The Wardens’ Blog @ 13 April

Our loss is your gain is something we could say to All Saints Long Sutton and its neighbour, St Andrew South Warnborough. Mary-Beth leaves us to become priest in charge of these village churches in the North Hampshire Downs Benefice. On Sunday we shall wish her a fond farewell and thank her for all the help she has given us during the vacancy. We would offer our help in return as wardens in her new job but as both churches date from mediaeval times we’ve thought better of it. A 20th century church with 1960’s addition is quite enough.

Frances and Jolyon are moving quietly into the vicarage this weekend. Quietly because they need time to unpack, settle and for Frances to prayerfully prepare for her installation on 25 April. She needs that space for herself and we will have plenty of time after the big service to tell her just how glad and relieved we are she’s actually here. The loss to her former parishioners of Wraxall with Failand is our gain.
