This was the week for meetings as we plan ahead for the year. The services up until Easter need ordained clergy and we are grateful to those who are willing to assist us by sharing Mary-Beth’s load. The ministry team are preparing for their part. Josey has a full diary, as usual, for regular work in the schools as well as in church. The office is always on the go. We are looking at systems that will make better use of our database and facilitate the challenge of maintaining the many rotas essential for our weekly services,
Alan Jenkins, the Area Dean, who will kindly officiate at the 8 o’clock communion service in two day’s time, will shortly be planning the BIG service to be held here after Easter when the Revd Frances Trickey is officially made our vicar. We wardens are scratching our heads as we wonder where to put everyone on that day. We will be looking for many helpers as we set up, steward, feed and look after the many visitors from near and far who will celebrate with us on that happy occasion.
But we mustn’t let forward planning take the place of our daily witness to Jesus Christ. If you are local to Oxshott, we look forward to seeing you on Sunday evening, 22 January, to learn how to become more confident in talking about our faith. Full details of “Be Prepared to Give an Answer” are on the website or available in church. See you then!
