A visit to another church doesn’t happen often for me, but last Sunday I went to the 9.30am and 11.15am services at Holy Trinity in Claygate.
I was being interviewed in both services about the Garden Route Childrens Trust by their curate, so while he was looking after me we spent some inbetween times comparing our church and HTC.
It is heartening that they struggle with similar issues to us. Philip Plyming was preaching on stewardship in the context of the abundance in which many of us in Claygate and Oxshott are very grateful to live. (Well worth a listen via their website.)
They do their collection differently, their morning services are the other way round with the less traditional service first, they pick different songs and hymns, but still the same wonderful range of God’s people gathering to worship and doing their best to work out how to imitate Christ in their everyday life.
