All systems go!
The PCC met on 19 May with the Area Dean and together pressed the button to start the search for Supervicar. The necessary documents have gone to Bishop Andrew, the job will be advertised on the diocese website and in the Church Times by the end of the month. You can see it on ours too here.
Would-be candidates must apply by the third week of June and be ready for interviews in the second week of July. It’s all very exciting!
Meanwhile there is plenty to do. The vicarage needs to be cleaned, polished and painted from top to toe. Mike Newman is organising working parties and will be delighted to allow you to use your skills to the full in one of them.
The Bishop, the Archdeacon, the Area Dean and our parish representatives (Ruth Burns and Phillip Herbert) will shortlist and interview the candidates. Deciding who will be the one to appoint is more than who can tick the most boxes. St Andrew’s is the Lord Jesus’ church and he alone knows who is best to lead us now. Please remember this in your daily prayers. If you can, come to the next monthly parish prayer meeting on Thursday evening 26 May.
We need all the help God will give us.
