The juniors have been left in charge this week as Norman is away on business in China and Phillip is taking a well-deserved holiday! So, I crossed the road to unlock the church early on Sunday morning in the bright sunshine; there were no cars, the birds were singing and I reflected on how lucky we are to be part of a community where you can appreciate God’s creation every day and still be in a village big enough to have a broad congregation. As I dotted back and forth between home and church I was greeted by many smiling faces either leaving or arriving.
Mike and I were pleased that Sunday services went smoothly and then we moved into the duties of the week. The PCC have been sent the first full draft of the Parish Profile which is being reviewed as I type. Once the PCC comments are incorporated it will go to Paul Bryer, our Archdeacon, at the end of this week. Paul is preaching on Sunday and then coming back to a PCC meeting next Tuesday to give us his thoughts on the profile.
I pray that soon we will have a new vicar enjoying the early Sunday morning walk round to church – all in God’s time though.
