This week the electrician came. As the nights close in we want the lights outside the church to work. In the vestibule some circuits had worn out and needed replacing (roll on Phase 2!).
At the month’s end the clocks go back and Josey goes forward to put on a Light Party as an alternative to Halloween. It’s on Monday 31st after school has finished. Children are often afraid of the dark. This will be a time of fun and laughter.
Candles will be lit the day before as we remember with affection those who died in the previous year. Death can be like a dark, dark night. The Memorial and Comfort Service is lovingly planned to remind the bereaved of the bible’s promise of the alternative.
The Lord Jesus can dispel the evil forces and fear of death. He died in darkness but rose again in a glorious dawn. He welcomes all who want to turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. He, alone, is the Light of the World.
