The Wardens’ Blog @ 29 Dec

Finishing the year on a high note is something to thank God for.

Attendance at the crib service reached record levels and the joy was palpable. On Christmas morning the silver tipped wardens’ wands wafted the Bishop of Dorking down the aisle to preside and preach at the 10 o’clock service. She wowed us all; we loved having her.

With the addition of the coffee money to the Christmas collections we were able to give a record sum of over £2,000 for Crisis UK’s work with the homeless. Carl, our treasurer, confirms that at the year end, our books balance and we have been able to honour all our Outward Giving commitments. Our people have given generously from grateful hearts.

In answer to prayer, Bishop Andrew has appointed a new vicar to pastor and lead us. We look forward to serving under her soon after Easter.

Looking back over 2016 we can say with the composer of Psalm 126, The Lord has done great things for us; we are glad! A Happy New Year to you all.
