It was good to shake hands with new faces at Village Day this week. Over 160 copies of the Servant Queen were given to those who asked for it. Many, of course, were familiar faces but a considerable number were not. We enjoyed meeting them for the first time and very much hope to see some of them in church on 12 June when we celebrate the Queen’s official birthday.
The book is a gentle reminder of the Christian values that have shaped our nation over many centuries. It is the more powerful because our Queen shows by her life what she believes in her heart. Giving this book to as many people as possible in our parish is just another way of reaching out to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
If you think of some in Oxshott to whom you can give a copy, please call in to the Parish Office. And take some invitations too. It’s all part of our mission.
