Some of the warden team have been wandering this week. Ruth and her family are in South Africa visiting some of the projects supported by the Garden Route Children’s Trust. We look forward to hearing all about it on her return. It’s such a brilliantly simple idea. Hungry children can have a nutritious meal every day on one condition. They have to go to school to eat it. For just £18 a year you can nourish and educate a child.
Norman returned from a business trip in Hong Kong where Typhoon Haima had virtually closed it down with strong winds and torrential rain. “I don’t know what all the fuss was about” he was heard to murmur. And by way of explanation, added, “I grew up in Glasgow”.
Back at home we enjoy the continuing Indian summer while the children make the most of half term. Mike has overseen the much needed repair and repainting of the front of the church. Phillip has taken a funeral and is preparing for another. As the wanderers return we face a busy time ahead.
