Oxshott celebrates the Harvest every year with a supper, organized by the church. Every year the honour of coordinating the supper falls on a different lucky group within the church. This year's Harvest Supper is at the Village Centre on [to be announced].
Harvest Supper
The theme of our supper was a quiz night based on popular TV quiz shows, aptly led by our Churchwarden Andrew Burns. A delicious supper of Shepherd's Pie, followed by Apple Crumble with apples from the vicarage and curate's gardens!
Last year was the turn of the choir and they chose the theme of 'Showtime'. The choir led us in songs from the West End musicals and the fantastic dinner was spiced up by quizzes and anagrams based on shows and musicals.
Songs from Joseph and the Sound of Music proved a highlight but one of the biggest laughs of the evening can from a self-penned pastiche sung by the choir about the trials and tribulations of organising the Harvest Supper.
The Village Centre was crammed full by this sell-out night of fun, festivities and feast and for the finale Val presented an acted-out Pam Ayres poem about the plight of the poor battery hen. A great night out and our thanks go to the choir and all those who worked so hard to make our Harvest so special.

In October 2005 we decided to do it as a Texas BBQ dinner, with authentic decorations and entertainment. It took a lot of work, but it turned out well in the end.
