On Sunday 6 December, over 200 people gathered to celebrate the many good things that have happened during the 25 years that Jeremy has been vicar at St Andrew’s. The morning started with two communion services, where Jeremy spoke fondly about his time in Oxshott, and gave words of wisdom for the coming months, including:
- Don’t lose the intimacy with God
- Don’t try to do it alone
- Rely on God’s grace; we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us
Afterwards, sumptuous refreshments were enjoyed by friends new and old, some of whom had traveled a great distance to share in this special occasion. A presentation including gifts and expressions of gratitude was made over a glass of bubbly, to show our great love for the family, to bid them farewell and to ask God to bless their retirement.
