The good news is that we have a new vicar. As announced on 11 December, Revd Frances Trickey will join St Andrew’s in the spring.
The sad news is that we shall lose Mary-Beth at Easter. She has been talent-spotted by the diocese of Winchester and will become an assistant priest in a ministry team in the benefice of North Hampshire Downs. She will be responsible for two Hampshire villages, Long Sutton and South Warnborough.
Mary-Beth has been a beloved part of St Andrew’s for 15 years, and a priest for the last seven. We all owe her an enormous debt for her quiet, gentle and faithful service. In the year since Jeremy retired, we have depended on her to maintain our regular services. We will continue to do so in the New Year until she leaves us.
It is an uncommon honour for an associate minister such as Mary-Beth to be called to do the work of two full time vicars. We share her joy in this calling but will miss her very much.
