The Foodbank (which provides emergency food and support to local people on low incomes or families who find themselves in a sudden crisis) has now been up and running for over a year. In a letter of thanks for all the donations of food which have been gratefully received, we are reminded that financial support is also needed.
The lease of a van for collections and the warehouse for storage contribute to running costs. There is also the cost of buying in some food when what has been donated doesn’t quite match up with what is needed. As a participating church, St Andrew’s will make a contribution to Foodbank foods. Anyone who is able to consider making an individual donation towards running costs is invited to go to the Foodbank website, or to email . We would like to draw your attention to David Cappitt’s letter which is pinned up on the vestibule notice board (copies on the foodbank container).
