New Wine Camps

St Andrew's families have joined thousands of other Christians to camp in Shepton Mallet at the superb New Wine Christian conference and camp. The group is growing

The week was packed for activities for the children attending Gems and Groundbreakers, with the teens goining to the youth groups: Club One and Thirst - sometimes partying late into the night to Christian rock bands. There was a huge Christian marketplace, farm shops and a food bazaar.

We made friends with other campers and the children played wonderfully in the sunshine (and some showers). The adults enjoyed enthusiatic worship and fellowship during huge tented services in the morning and evening and by attending workshops, activites, seminars, having barbecues and parties during the day. And perhaps doing a little sunbathing!

It was all very sociable. One or two glasses of wine were enjoyed and a day off site allowed trips to Wells Cathedral, Wookey Hole, Longleat and visits to friends have been enjoyed in recent years. Youth events included craft work, hunt the disguised leader, singing, bouncy castles, games and sports and visits to the 'Prayer Shack'.

A week of great company, fabulous children's activities, late nights, early mornings and inspirational speakers made a very memorable week.
