Where did the time go?
It seems like it was just yesterday when I was flying over here to meet everyone at St Andrew's for the first time. Fourteen weeks later I feel like I did when I left my family back in May because though I left my family and friends several weeks back, I came here and found a spiritual family and a group of people whom I now consider friends as well.
This was an excellent summer for me. The opportunities I was given to teach Pathfinders and Quest, preach, and be involved in Carroty Wood are memories that I will always cherish. In addition, the pool parties, the sight-seeing, and all the activities that I have been a part of have been great experiences that I won't forget. The things that I learned directly and indirectly from many of you are invaluable to me (However, among the things that I did learn, the Macarena was not one of them as the picture above indicates!).
My prayer for everyone at St Andrew's, whether you're in the youth group or a bit older, is that you will pursue Jesus. This Sunday we will be exploring how St Paul considered everything in life as rubbish compared to knowing Jesus and being found in Him. There is nothing more important in life than loving and serving Jesus, be it as a minister, a volunteer at Coffee Corner, or a faithful student who tells his or her friends about Jesus and His sacrifice. In short, follow Jesus wherever He leads you.
Thank you to all who have made this a warm and memorable summer for me. From those who have put me up for a few weeks (or perhaps put up with me), to those who had me over for dinner, to those who simply took the time to talk and see how I was doing, your hospitality and friendship is greatly appreciated. Do remember to stay in touch as well through email or facebook and keep in mind that Wisconsin would be a great place to go on holiday! Until we see each other again, God's richest blessing be with you all +
Love in Christ,
Paul
