Christenings & Baptisms
God’s blessing for a wonderful event
The birth of a child is a wonderful event – if you would like to seek God’s blessing for the new member of your family, St Andrew’s can provide a Thanksgiving Service or Baptism (sometimes also called a Christening.)
For babies and young children it is usual to have three godparents, two of the same sex as the child and one of the opposite sex, but some people vary this.
Adults can be baptised too. Anyone can be brought to God, whatever their age.
To ask more about baptism, contact the parish office; you will be visited by baptism co-ordinator Marianne Francis, and an appointment will be arranged with a member of the clergy to discuss details.
