10 years to Teens

Come and join in a busy programme with something for everyone. All age groups are given a very warm welcome at St Andrew’s, from newborns to teenagers. Josey Wisdom (Youth and Children’s Pastor) and her team of many helpers and leaders ensure a safe, enjoyable and meaningful time for all children and young people, their parents and carers.

Encounter

When: 5.15pm - 6.45pm on alternate Sundays
What: Bible study and games in a local home:
Who: 10 to 14 years (school years 6 to 9)

OY! Oxshott Youth Club

Meet up with friends for games, craft and fun

When: Every Friday during term time, between 8pm and 9.30pm
What: A busy, fun youth club with table tennis, table football, badminton, games, cooking and crafts in the church vestibule and hall, and outdoor games when the weather permits. Just turn up on the evening to register
Who: 10 to 14 years (school years 6 to 9)
Cost: 50p a week
Extras: Christmas parties, fund raising for charities Comic Relief and Children in Need plus themed games evenings

Quest

A great time to spend with friends, share thoughts and prayers

When: Most Sunday evenings during term time from 6.30pm to 8.30pm
What: Meet up in a local Oxshott home, study the Bible, pray and have a social time. This group has a regular base of teenagers who as well as meeting up regularly, also help out with church activities and leading in Junior Church
Who: 14 to 18 years

Confirmation

Taking the next step

When: The annual course running up to Confirmation is around eight weeks long. Interest should be registered in January, the course begins in March and the Confirmation Service is in May or June, held at different churches

What: Topics for study would normally include

    • 'Who is the Father?'
    • 'Who is the Son?'
    • 'Who is the Holy Spirit?'
    • 'How and why do we read the Bible and pray?'
    • 'The Church'
    • 'What is Holy Communion?'
    • 'What happens at the Confirmation Service?'

St Andrew’s Worship Band

Playing at Sunday services

When: Sunday services (see church calendar for service times); Saturday rehearsals,
usually 5pm to 7pm
