‘Giving’ is a central element of Christian life, and at St Andrew’s includes the giving of time and talents as well as money.
You may wish to get involved in the valuable work done by teams of volunteers, and you may wish to make a financial contribution towards sustaining the church and its ministry, both in Oxshott and overseas.
In a typical year we need £250,000 to cover the many things we do at St Andrew’s, paid for by the generosity of people in the church and the parish and through legacies.
For information on how much to give and how to give, pick up a leaflet from the church vestibule, or contact:
- Giving sustains our work in the parish – including: visiting the ill, comforting the bereaved, leading assemblies and other work in schools, celebrating baptism, running confirmation courses, teaching children at church on Sundays, offering care, comfort and compassion to people in the community. It also pays for the Children’s and Youth Worker and Parish Office Administrators and all the work they do for the church and for the parish.
- Giving sustains our mission, both locally and overseas – our Outward Giving Programme supports charities and partners working overseas, donating around £25,000 to them each year.
- Giving sustains the church – a sacred building for worship and prayer, financial giving enables the upkeep of the buildings, heating, lighting, insurance, maintenance and repairs.
- Giving sustains the clergy – financial contributions to the Guildford Diocese help pay for our own Vicar and vicarage, and also supports poorer parishes across the UK, as well as training new clergy.
