Each year, St Andrew’s holds a Memorial Service to remember the lives of all those who have died during the last year, especially those with any connection to St Andrew’s church. Despite the on-going restrictions about meeting in church, we are planning to hold a service at 4pm on Sunday 1 November.
As you might imagine, the service this year will be slightly different, as it needs to conform both to the Government and Church of England guidelines, but we want to reassure you that our experience of other services in church, within these same constraints, is very meaningful and special in a surprising way.
Places in church will need to be booked in advance, and priority is initially being given to those who have experienced bereavement within the past 18 months. Please email the Church Office during w/c 12 October to see if places are still available and to give us the names of those you wish to be read out. If you prefer, you can call Claire or Rowena on 01372 842071.
In order to include as many people as possible in the occasion, the service will be live streamed, and details of how to watch the service online will be posted on the website at 3pm on 1 November, before the service starts at 4pm.
Although congregational singing is still not allowed, we hope to welcome a few members of our choir and one of our organists to provide musical accompaniment for this special time. Tea-lights will be lit and the names of your loved ones will be read out, whether you are able to attend or not.
We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to St Andrew’s for this special service.
