Holy Week Reflections

What a week it was, 2000 years ago, when Jesus entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday and took a week-long journey to his crucifixion on Good Friday and his glorious resurrection on Easter Day.

And what a week it was at St Andrew’s, just last week, when we met for half an hour each evening to reflect on those events and to think about the significance for Jesus back then and for us today.

Each reflection used visual and creative ways to summarise a particular part of the Holy Week journey: from re-living Jesus’ supper with Martha, Mary and Lazarus; to Jesus’ last supper with the disciples when Judas betrayed him; to our own re-enactment of the last supper with hand-washing and the sharing of bread and wine. Each evening was moving and impactful and gave both the opportunity and the reason to pause for thought.
