Queen’s 90th Picnic and Walk

Queens Picnic

Rain did not dampen the spirits on Sunday when Oxshott families gathered on the Heath for a Big Lunch picnic in celebration of The Queen’s 90th birthday.  After special celebration services in church with Richard Bewes, picnic baskets were packed and umbrellas were hoisted.  The Oxshott Heath Conservators, St Andrew’s Church and 1st Oxshott Scouts took the lead in gathering people for a community picnic (keeping dry thanks to some sturdy gazebos) and then a gentle walk together around the ‘Trail 2000’ path.  Lots more joined us as the sun came out and as the walk progressed we shared stories and fellowship.  A wonderful community event.
