Families flocked to Oxshott on Bank Holiday Monday 2nd May to celebrate the ninth annual Village Day. This popular community event saw almost 5,000 people enjoying a fantastic spring day out at the Steels Lane sports ground.
This is a very special day for the kids, and with a host of exciting attractions and activities on offer from Punch and Judy to clown workshop and funfair, there were some very happy families!
Some 70 stalls offered shopping, eating and drinking opportunities. With the sun finally shining down, families spread themselves out on the grass for impromptu picnics.
The theme for the St Andrew’s stall was the Queen’s 90th birthday with a beautiful book ‘The Servant Queen’ being offered free to everyone.
The proceeds of the Village Day will go to the Cobham Foodbank. The Foodbank, which also covers Oxshott, helps families in times of need and is sponsored by the Churches of Oxshott and Cobham.
