Reflection Four: The Last Supper
Play some introductory music (About 2 mins worth. Ask God to help you settle, to put away the things of the day and to concentrate upon Him.)
You may find it helpful to have some bread and a glass of wine infront of you.
Today there are three videos, one for each of the three readings. Please scroll down and watch when you are ready.
First watch Frances as she leads our opening prayers and the first reflection. If you have not been able to print the booklet you will find the prayers and readings below.
O God make speed to save us.
O Lord, make haste to help us.
Let your ways be known on earth
your saving power among the nations.
That this evening may be holy, good & peaceful,
let us pray with one heart and mind.
We pray in silence for a moment.
As our evening prayer rises before you, O God,
so may your mercy come down upon us
to cleanse our hearts
and set us free to sing your praise
now and for ever. Amen
Reading 1 Preparation
Reading 2 Betrayal
God shows his love for us
in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Let us then show our love for him
by confessing our sins in penitence and faith.
Father eternal, giver of light and grace,
we have sinned against you and against our neighbour,
in what we have thought,
in what we have said and done,
through ignorance, through weakness,
through our own deliberate fault.
We have wounded your love,
and marred your image in us.
We are sorry and ashamed,
and repent of all our sins.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,
who died for us,
forgive us all that is past;
and lead us out from darkness
to walk as children of light.
The assurance of forgiveness

Reflection — A guided Ignatian reflection
Lighten our darkness,
Lord we pray,
and in your great mercy
defend us from all perils
and dangers of this night,
for the love of your only son,
our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen
