We were thrilled to host the Garden Route Children’s Trust (GRCT) Breakfast for Breakfasts last Sunday (7 July) in the church hall.
As Ruth Burns, one of the GRCT’s Trustees, reports, “It was a wonderful, joy-filled occasion, which was a delight in itself. Added into the mix was the huge generosity which raised a whopping £1,710 – even before Gift Aid. The answer to the question on the poster, ‘How many can we feed?’ turns out to be more than 85 children for a whole school year. Amazing! Patrick Fleming and I, on behalf of all the GRCT trustees, are very grateful.
“Thank you to everyone who came, donated even when they could not attend, the church office for running a great series of advertising and printing posters for us, Deborah Hoepfl for donating the big jar of delicious rusks, Ben Christie from ‘Munch and Wiggles’ for personally delivering my pastry order to church on the day so that everything was fresh and Revd Patrick Davies for integrating our event and messages into the 10am service in church that immediately followed.”
