A warm welcome to couples wanting to marry in church
Any couple who would like to marry in church is always very welcome at St Andrew’s. The first step is an appointment with the vicar to discuss the process of a Christian wedding.
You will need to have at least one qualifying connection with the Parish:
- for you, your partner or a parent to have lived in the Parish for at least six months
- for you, your partner or a parent to have habitually attended public worship in the Parish for at least six months
- or a parent or grandparent to have married in the Parish
You will also need to show your passports and birth certificates. You will then be given information and contact details to make your wedding booking.
Participation in a marriage preparation session is a requirement, and this is carried out by our marriage preparation co-ordinator.
In addition, St Andrew’s runs a Marriage Course for married couples wanting to strengthen their relationship.
